What inspired me to making this piece is the way Blacks are gradually forgetting what we use to call our own authentic beauty.
When I was younger this hair style used to be the pride of young maidens(Young Black Girls), the originality was is what we should embrace and bring back to our custom look, so basically this piece is like a reminder to the all beautiful black women not to forget what makes them original.

Ogbonna Francis is a contemporary artist from Ebonyi state, Nigeria. His works are inspired by personal experience, African culture and things happening around him.

He began creating works that reflect the everyday struggles of people with the hopes of making a change to the world in diaspora.

His favorite medium of making art has always been pencil but he uses mixed media to try passing accurate message with colors.
