My Deepest Parts
The deepest parts of me have been beat black and blue, torn apart from within, I’m left lost and confused. With eyes wide shut and ears quick to deafen, no one hears her cries. Wisdom I earned from life’s lessons learned, the deepest parts can change with tomorrow’s rise. Witness an evolution, a beauty that’s bold. The deepest parts now take flight, her essence bleeds red and gold. She can’t hide in her stride on the road to absolute truth. She came alive, never mind being beat black and blue; live in your grace and loves hue. I’ll pass this on to daughters after me, let these colors tell their stories, rewrite His -story. Being colored ain’t so hard when you accept you for you; It’s a gift from God! In the deepest parts of me heaven gleams; I am transformed, imperfect yet complete.
