Crooked Flag

It’s not made of red, blue, white

It's made from ruby tears,

Why isn't American history right?

To control our gears

Our Ancestors, Black and Native Americans.

Suffering from the patriotic game

We do whatever we can,

It's bigot's history to blame

Our Ancestors slaved to build these pillars.

In the scorching heat, frigid rain, and below zero snow,

After all that, they weren't the winners

Why do our contributions come so slow?

I hate the founding fathers putting my ancestors in chains

I hate pilgrims who kick the native American off their land,

Both groups are dealing with back stabbing pain

Now do you wholeheartedly understand?

Its history, covered with sweet bitter lies.

For what?

To preserve a false patriotic image.

Many mothers, daughters, sisters, brothers, fathers die

This is the truth,

Don't be scared or get skittish.

What do they do?

They paint over it to cover the hideous marks.

We all want to taste the American dream like you.

Please stop feeding the blinded sharks,

You can choose but what do you have to lose?

It's sad, this is supposed to be a land of opportunity but took away mine and others dignity.

NO! NO! NO!

It's not a battle of femininity and masculinity,

It's not about gender but him, her, you, I and we.

I know it hurts but like everything else.

It is flawed,

Lady Liberty is mute, she can't sing.

Why?

Her voice has been outlawed.

It's not peachy or “A” okay.

People died from this bloody American facade.

You don't know what to think or say?

At least I got you out of that ancient mirage.

Whenever you look at the flag,

Really ask yourself, Does it truly represent you or me?

Yeah, I know it's a huge drag,

Dangling the sun and clouds pretending we are free.
