Ice Cream & Fries

I want that weird love, dorky and free love.

That, “ice cream and fries” love.

That, “I can be myself with no judgment” love.

Where they should not agree

because one is sweet and one has salt,

but after you get that first bite,

Your life has taken a halt by a full out assault

By something that normally isn’t a match.

So you catch your breath to appreciate the fact that

opposites like this could attract to form a bond that can

Stay intact no matter who tries to say you don’t belong

And that’s the beauty of it all.

Where everyone thinks we should be perfect

Like peanut butter and jelly

And I say screw that.

Let’s have that, “ice cream and fries” love.

Jacob Alkana
