WITCHCHRIST
Jennifer Lopez is a 26 year old nonbinary queer artist and musician working out of Brooklyn, NY. Their work consists primarily of a mix of digital and traditional works exploring their identity, religion and sexuality. The moniker 'witchchrist' was a chosen name, given to the genderless demon that encapsulates Jennifer's body of work over the course of a decade. Witchchrist takes the form of the artist, adorned with horns; a god with no purpose other than to exist in latex, blood, spit and pure self worship. Jennifer draws inspiration from artists like Michael Hussar, Francis Bacon, Salvador Dali, Jenny Saville +++ and while their art may not directly pull from these influences, the raw, dark, surreal, demonic hellscapes that bleed together from reference have impact on their portraits ranging from renaissance reimaginings, ghoulish self reflective pieces or even portraits of friends who inspire,support and motivate. Their current ongoing body of work consists of winded titled self portraits that capture moments of self harm, confusion and insatiable sexual frustration and a sound collaging, noise and experimental audio project under the name nullobite.
